Stefano Liberti, Manifesto journalist and contributor to "Like a man on earth," and tells comments on the video shot in July 2009 by a boy Eritrean documenting one of the rejections implemented by the Italian government against hundreds of asylum seekers. 11 of Eritreans rejected on that occasion are now among the exiles of Braq, where more than 100 Eritrean refugees held in inhuman conditions and without any possibility of applying for asylum.
The smiles of the boys and girls on this boat, now believed to be "saved" by the Italian navy, are the most obvious explanation of inhumanity that has come our country, willing, although easy to reap acclaim xenophobic not only to deny the fundamental rights recognized by international conventions but also to mock the hope of men and women fleeing from violence, discrimination and poverty.
