Last night the 205 young Eritreans detained for 16 days in jail Braq in southern Libya, were released. In the same hours have been released all Eritreans closed in various detention centers around Libya, about 400 people in total estimates of the authorities in Tripoli confirmed by the Eritrean community. The issue colelttivo - announced in recent days by the authorities of the Jamahiriya and the Director of the Office of Tripoli International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Laurence Hart - is also the result of pressure from international organizations such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, some national press and implementation of the campaign by various civil society groups. Just before being freed, inmates of Braq were heard by members of the committee of investigation demanded by the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. They have reiterated that they do not want to stay in the Arab country and who are not asylum seekers but illegal immigrants, and as such they want to get refugee status in a third country which has signed the Geneva Convention. Italy - which has rejected 103 of the 205 inmates in the sea of \u200b\u200bBraq, plus hundreds of other potential asylum seekers - has expressed its readiness to accept resettlement of some of them. We will see in the coming weeks if this willingness will be followed by concrete facts, views also the direct responsibility of the Italian government in stalemate in which there are now hundreds of Eritreans in Libya.
