Marco Tamburini:
Born May 30, 1959 in Cesena, he graduated in trumpet in 1979 at the Martini Conservatory in Bologna and he made his debut on the Italian jazz scene in the early eighties.
During his career he has shared the stage with some of the best known Italian jazz musicians, including Gianni Basso, Franco Ambrosetti, Tonolo Pietro, Giovanni Tommaso, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Gianluigi Trovesi, Dado Moroni, Giorgio Gaslini, Danilo Rea and Stefano Bollani.
There are also his collaborations, live or in studio, with famous musicians overseas as Eddie Henderson, Sal Nistico, Steve Coleman, Ray Mantilla, Joe Lovano, Steve Lacy, Louis Hayes, Ben Sidran, Curtis Fuller, Slide Hampton, Paul Jeffrey, Gary Bartz, George Cables, Ray Drummond, Billy Hart, Cameron Brown and Jimmy Cobb. For several years he has collaborated regularly with the French guitarist Christian Escoudé.
He participated at the head of their groups or as a sideman, as the most important international jazz festivals, including Umbria Jazz, Jazz Siena, Roma Jazz Festival, Eurovision Song Contest in Ivrea, Dubai Jazz Festival, Jazz Weeks of Basel, North Carolina International Jazz Festival and Jazz Festival Wiesen.

Al direttore - Rispondiamo all’ “appello realista” che il suo giornale ci indirizza, innanzitutto ringraziandola per l'approccio articolato e comprensivo che anima la vostra analisi di una realtà che è appunto complessa e, come tale, merita una risposta politica altrettanto articolata e complessa.

Affrontiamo certo una materia in cui l'assolutezza e l'irrinunciabilità dei diritti vanno prese sul serio e anche noi capiamo come gli uomini di buona volontà e le Organizzazioni umanitarie lancino da giorni un pressante allarme. Ma non siamo certi che anche le più giuste declamazioni possano aiutarci a risolvere un problema che, proprio a partire dagli argomenti corretti che fondano l’analisi del suo giornale, ha bisogno di un approccio diverso per essere risolto. Tra l'altro non crediamo che incoraggino la comprensione della realtà della vicenda cronache e interviste giornalistiche con appelli via telefono satellitare inspiegabilmente utilizzate da parte di persone che denunciano di essere detenute e a rischio di tortura.

RESPONSE TO MARONI and Frattini

Quattro semplici e sintetiche risposte alla lettera di Frattini e Maroni sulla questione profughi eritrei in Libia.

1. Non c'è nessun atteggiamento neocoloniale nel chiedere alla Libia di rispettare i diritti umani fondamentali. Il neocolonialismo sta piuttosto nel continuare a sfruttare le risorse naturali ed economiche dell'Africa (questo lo scopo principale dell'accordo con la Libia)  schiacciando rights of thousands of people and creating internal conflicts between different peoples of Africa.
